Pedestrian killed in hit and run crash in Immokalee

IMMOKALEE – A 37-year-old Immokalee man was killed in a hit and run accident on State Road 29, about half a mile north of County Road 29A at 7 a.m. on Jan. 20, according to the Florida Highway Patrol report.

According to the FHP report, a sports utility vehicle was traveling south on State Road 29. A pedestrian was walking south, adjacent to southbound State Road 29.

The front of the vehicle hit the pedestrian. He was pronounced deceased on scene.

The vehicle fled the scene after the accident.

In the course of their investigation, FHP Troopers located and impounded a 2015 Nissan Rogue, believed to be the vehicle involved in the crash, from a residence on Jan. 20. This case remains under active investigation. If anyone has information regarding the crash, contact the Florida Highway Patrol or Crimestoppers.
