The Collier County Housing Authority(CCHA) had its official “Ribbon Cutting Ceremony” on May 29, at 1800 Farm Worker Way in Immokalee. The CCHA is under the leadership of Oscar Hentschel, who is the present Executive Director of the entire operation. Farm Worker Village has been in existence since 1966 and is designed to provide decent, safe, affordable housing for farm workers and for eligible low-income individual. The Governing Board Members are: Rebecca M. Vaccariello-Chair, David B. Genson-Vice president, Comminioners Randolph B. Cash, Arthur Roth IV, Secretary and Treasurer. The welcoming address was made by Oscar Hentschel. They had a special “In Memory of” for Mr. Z. Floyd crews who was a previous member of the CCHA Board before his passing. Commissioner William McDaniel made brief remarks about the completion of the housing projects and thanked one of the early directors’ of CCHA Fred N. Thomas Jr. Mr. Hentschel gave “Special Thanks and Recognitions” to the Rural Development Area Director-Mr. Mike Botelho, Rural Development State Director of Florida, Sydney Gruters Tours of the newly redesigned housing unit were given to all attendees. Farm Worker Village has taken on a new “look” for the community of Immokalee.
