Did you ever stop and think of just how important calendars are to our everyday living? They keep us on task, ensure we make our appointments, and remind us of special days such as birthdays and anniversaries. Calendars also play an important role in the academic school year. As a parent or guardian, you may find yourself asking, “When is winter break?” “Does my child have school on Presidents’ Day?” “When will I receive my child’s report card?” From the kids, we’ll hear, “When is the last day of school?” All of those questions are answered on the district’s Academic School Calendar. Because this calendar is so essential and affects all of our families, we look to our parents, employees, and the community to provide us input each year as we begin to draft our dates for future years. A parent survey was distributed last week to allow individuals to provide us feedback on our 2020-2021 calendar. Yes, we work two years in advance! If you did not receive the survey, you will find the draft 2020-2021 Academic School Calendar on the district’s website (www.collierschools.com) along with the link to the survey. We welcome everyone to take the survey and share any suggestions. The survey will be available until 4:00 p.m. on January 22, 2019. Thank you, in advance, as we greatly value your feedback!
