The excitement is building for Collier County Public Schools’ (CCPS) first-ever 5K Walk-Run, powered by Suncoast Credit Union. The event will be held on Saturday, December 5th, starting at 8:00 a.m., at the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Administrative Center Campus (5775 Osceola Trail, Naples). The race is being organized by Gulf Coast Runners and will feature a 5K timed race, a 5K fun run, and a 1-mile walk. This event is designed to bring the focus of health and wellness to Collier County students, teachers, school staff, and the community. We are planning for a big crowd and we are looking forward to seeing all of the school spirit and community support at the event. Several of our Immokalee area schools already have a good amount of people signed up for the school’s team. In addition to the race, there will also be a health fair for families, activities for kids, and Collier County’s largest yoga class to be held after the race on the football field of Barron Collier High School. To top it all off, 100% of the proceeds from this event will go back to the schools to support health and wellness initiatives. More information about how to register can be found by visiting www.collierschools.com/ccps5k. We hope to see you on December 5th!
