Turnout was light for the March 17 presidential primary, as most Floridians’ attention was focused on the COVID-19 pandemic.

Statewide, Joe Biden received 61.9% of the vote; Bernie Sanders, 22.8%, Michael Bloomberg, 8.4 %; Pete Buttigieg, 1.9%. Others on the ballot received less than 1% of the votes.

Some of the candidates whose names appeared on the ballot had dropped out of the race after the ballots were printed.

In the Republican primary, statewide, Donald Trump received 93.7% of the votes cast; Bill Weld, 3.2%; Joe Walsh, 2%, and Roque De La Fuente, less than 1%.

Collier County had a 38.6% voter turnout.
In the Democratic Primary, Congressional District 19 cast 13,029 votes, with Joe Biden receiving 63.7%; Bernie Sanders, 14.2%; Michael Bloomberg, 11.2%; Pete Buttigieg, 3.4%; Elizabeth Warren, 1.5%; Amy Klobuchar 1.4%. Other candidates each received less than 1% Democrats of Congressional District 25 cast 10,586 votes, with Joe Biden receiving 64.2%; Bernie Sanders, 18%; Michael Bloomberg, 10%; Pete Buttigieg, 3.5%; Elizabeth Warren, 1.7%; Amy Klobuchar 1.2%. Other candidates each received less than 1%.

In the Republican primary, Congressional District 19 had a total of 22,181 votes cast, of which Donald Trump received 93.1%; Bill Weld, 4.2%; Joe Walsh, 1.8%; Roque “Rocky” De La Fuente 0.9%. Congressional District 25 had a total of 14,964 votes cast of which Donald Trump received 94.9%; Bill Weld, 3%; Joe Walsh, 1.5%; Roque “Rocky” De La Fuente 0.7%.

7,909 votes were cast for Mayor, City of Naples, of which Teresa Lee Heitmann received 55.6%; Bill Barnett 44.4%

21,021 votes were cast for City Council, City of Naples, of which Mike McCabe received 22.7%; Edward “Ted” Blankenship 20.9%; Edward “Ted” Blankenship 17.5%; Michelle McLeod 15.1%; Other candidates each received less than 15%
