OKEECHOBEE — The spotlight is set on the Okeechobee Community Theatre stage for opening night of "Arsenic & Old Lace." Opening Friday March 4 at 8 p.m., this classic, dark comedy will keep audiences in uproarious laughter nearly start to finish.

With a crew of quirky characters, hilarious plot line, and an abundance of physical humor - audiences will be in stitches throughout each performance. Follow along with the Brewster Sisters -- the sweetest homicidal maniacs you’ll ever meet -- their cooky (and spooky) nephews, and a host of other eccentric characters as they spend a night at the Brewster Manor.

This production of “Arsenic & Old Lace” includes cast members new and old to Okeechobee Community Theatre - including six members of the Garner family - performing this show in memory of beloved late OCT member, John Garner, who’s idea it was to launch this production. Appearing in “Arsenic & Old Lace” are Laurie Garner as Abby Brewster, Tom Murray as Reverend Harper, Christian Garner as Teddy Brewster, James Garner as Officer Brophey, Josh Van Wormer as Officer O’Hara, Robyn Garner as Martha Brewster, Jane Robards as Elaine Harper, Zachary Garner as Mortimer Brewster, Harry Moldenhauer as Mr. Gibbs, Michael White as Jonathan Brewster, Joseph Marcinek as Dr. Einstein, Matthew Garner as Lt. Rooney, Brandon Entry as Officer Klein, and Bob Keebler as Mr. Witherspoon.

Okeechobee Community Theatre performs in the historic Okeechobee Auditorium located at the Freshman Campus (one block west of Golden Corral). Come to an evening performance at 8 p.m. on Friday, March 4, 11 or 18, or Saturday March 5. If matinées are more your style, afternoon performances are available on Saturday, March 5 and 12 at 2 p.m. Tickets are available online at okeechobeecommunitytheatre.com or in person at the office of Okeechobee Main Street, Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
