OKEECHOBEE -- Okeechobee High School National Honor Society End the Hunger “Backpack Program” was awarded the McDonald’s Golden Grant Award in the amount of $10,000. This generous recognition and gift will go a long way to help raise the near $50,000 needed to fund the initiative for one school year.
This student led program has now grown to feed 220 Okeechobee County elementary students two meals each weekend. It costs $225 to sponsor a child for the year. OHS thanks the Nisbet Family and the McDonald’s Corporation for their partnership and support. [Photo courtesy OHS]
