Big O Open announces winners of June Tournament

OKEECHOBEE — The “Big O Open” held its June 2021 Tournament, in memory of Les Tory, launching out of Okee-Tantie with nine teams participating in a nice day of friendly competition.

This month’s first place winning team was Bobby DuPree and Dan Hinkelman with 18.27 pounds and Big Fish weighing in at 5.32 pounds

 Danny Garcia and Cody Wright placed second with 15.38 pounds.

Leroy Bauer and Joe Wozar placed third with 12.52 pounds and second Big Fish at 4.45 pounds.

Joey Roberts placed fourth with 11.12 pounds.

 Daryl Brackin and Steve Jameson placed fifth with 11 pounds.

Future tournaments will be held the second Saturday of each month to begin at “Safe Light” with weigh-in at 1 p.m. at Okee-Tantie. The cost to participate is $50 per boat (two person) team with 90% payout and the remaining 10% of this cost is donated to our local teen anglers club the Big O Teen Anglers.

Also note that we have started our Wednesday evening tournaments at Scott Driver. Tournament begins at 5 p.m. and ends at 8 p.m. The cost is $25 per boat (two person) plus an optional $5 Big Fish pot.
