Big O Teen Anglers host bass tournament

LAKE OKEECHOBEE — The Big O Teen Anglers held their eighth tournament of the year out of Okee-Tantie on Sept. 26. This month’s tournament included 15 anglers catching a total of 28 bass at a combined weight of 50.28 pounds.

The largest bass caught was 5.84 pounds and was caught by Tyler Alexander.

This month’s standings were as follows:

• First place went to Tyler Alexander with 9.12 pounds and the Big Fish at 5.84 pounds.

• Second place went to Lane James with 6.34 pounds.

• Third place went to Rafe Sexton with 5.03 pounds.

Every month the anglers have boat captains who volunteer their Saturday morning to youth anglers. Thanks go to the following: Brian Casey, Herman Parker, Billy Ellerbee, Jim Newell, Tim Carter, Ed French, Marc Williams and Buster McMillan.

Big O Teen Anglers are now accepting applications for the 2021 season. If you have a youth angler between the ages of 11 and 18 who loves fishing or wants to learn a new sport, please reach out to Danielle at 561 436-8491 or bota.danielle@gmail.com. The club is always in need of boat captains for one Saturday a month, from 6:15 a.m. to 1 p.m., to enjoy a great day of fishing with some of our local youth, please reach out.
