Billy Waddell Huddle, 90

Okeechobee – Billy Waddell Huddle died Friday, May 26, 2023. He was born October 26, 1932 in Bristol, Virginia to Stephen and Billie (Waddell) Huddle.
He proudly served our country in the United States Army. He graduated from University of Florida with a B.S.E. Civil Engineering Degree. He was a University of Florida Alumni and Lifetime Donor Brother of Acacia Lodge No. 163 F. & A.M. He was of the Episcopal faith and en-joyed traveling, antiques and collections, Gator football, was an avid marksman, and loved spending time with his grandchildren. A resi-dent of Okeechobee for 24 years, he retired in 2020 from Okeechobee County School District operations.
Mr. Huddle was preceded in death by his mother, Billie Huddle; brother, Stephen Huddle; and father, Stephen Huddle.
He is survived by his wife of 17 ½ years, Lynn “Sue” Huddle, of Okeechobee; stepsons, Frank Verk, Jr. (Alissa), of Okeechobee, and David Verk, of Jupiter; son, Craig Huddle, of Richmond, Virginia; daughter, Alison Bolen (J.), of Galex, Virginia; and eight grandchildren: William Verk, Trent Verk, Hannah Verk, Ava Verk, Jefferson Huddle, Joshua Huddle, Jacque-lyn Sutter (Nick), and John Bolen (Beverley).
Mr. Huddle’s final resting place will be a family plot in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Wytheville, Virginia.
