OKEECHOBEE- The Okeechobee High School Brahman varsity baseball team snapped a two game losing streak with a win over the Fort Pierce Cobras April 1.

The Brahmans beat the Cobras 4-2, improving their record to 5-6 and are now ahead of South Fork in the district standings after the Bulldogs lost three back-to-back games. Okeechobee will now have to finish strong in this final month of regular season play with district playoffs set to begin in Florida on April 26.

Okeechobee got in the board against Fort Pierce in the first inning. Gavin Kindell had a lead off single and Jacob Hardy was hit by a pitch which put runners on first and second. Kase Myers singled on a grounder up the third base line to score Kindell and put the Brahmans up 1-0.

Hardy was able to score on a error on a throw to the Fort Pierce second basemen, and then Orlando Arana hit a ball hard into right field that scored Blane Boyer who was on base as a courtesy runner for Kase Myers. Arana led the Brahmans with two hits in three at bats on the night.

In the bottom of the second inning Enoch Busbin drew a walk and was then brought home on a line drive to center field by Hardy.

Next the Brahmans will host the 9-7 John Carroll Catholic Rams on April 4 at 6 p.m. at Okeechobee High School.
