Brooksville man killed in early morning accident

OKEECHOBEE — A 53-year-old Brooksville man was killed early Thursday morning, Dec. 17, when his motorcycle was hit by a pickup truck. The victim was reportedly stopped on the right shoulder of U.S. 441 Southeast, just south of Southeast 34th Avenue, at approximately 6:15 a.m.

For some unknown reason, the right front side of the pickup truck, which was headed southbound and driven by a 33-year-old male, collided with the rear of the motorcycle. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The case is under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
