OKEECHOBEE — “Buckets of Fun in 2021” is the theme of the 15th annual Okeechobee County Fair. The fair will be held March 16-21; open Tuesday through Friday at 5 p..m. and Saturday and Sunday at noon. The fair will take place at the Okeechobee Agri-Civic Center Fairgrounds on State Road 710 East. Whether you come for the rides, livestock, food, exhibits or entertainment, there is so much to see and do.
• Tuesday, March 16, is Dollar Night featuring $1 gate admission, $1 each ride and $1 off selected food items.
• Wednesday, March 17, is Food Drive Night. Bring three cans of food - $2 gate admission.
• Saturday at 6 p.m. is the Demolition Derby - Tickets $10 plus gate entry.
• Sunday is Family Day with $2 gate admission and there will be a BBQ contest with set up in the morning and turn in at 4 p.m.
All new rides by Modern Midway will be featured with spectacular thrill rides, great kiddie rides, and fun games of chance. The Competitive Events Tent will include contests for baking, canning, horticulture, quilting, painting, photography, sewing, educational posters, leather works, Lego building, Duct Tape creations, jewelry and beadwork, red hat, trash to treasure and 4-H & FFA educational displays. The “Fun Time Corn Box” will be back in the exhibit tent with commercial and nonprofit exhibits. The ever popular Eudora Petting Zoo, featuring farm and exotic animals, is a delight for all ages. Everyone is sure to love the featured entertainment - Johnny Rocket’s Cycle Circus Live - motorcycles and bicycles flying through the air. Great crowd pleaser!
Horses Horses Horses - is a performing horse show of 12 miniature stallions, a beautiful Holland Fresian, and a Black Arabian - a show to be seen and enjoyed by all. MAX Power, a 9-foot Interactive Robot and Mini Monster Truck will be roaming the fairgrounds at various times that will be posted. Helicopter rides will return this year as an exciting thrill that you won’t forget!
4-H and FFA students will be exhibiting a variety of livestock animals, including lambs, goats, pigs, steers, beef and dairy cattle. The annual Okeechobee Youth Livestock Sale starts at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 20.
There will be lots of yummy food at the fair - steak tips, corn dogs, candied apples, funnel cakes, giant donuts, BBQ and so much more to tickle your taste buds.
