April 20 is the first day of class for our 2022 Leadership Okeechobee class. Our 10 participants will find this orientation to be a great start to their eighth month learning expedition. We have seven businesses that have graciously offered to sponsor a day session and Commissioner Terry Burroughs has offered to sponsor their final graduation day. Thank you to Martha’s House, Southeast Milk, Glades Electric, Army Surplus, Friends of the Kissimmee Prairie, Helping People Succeed, Treasure Coast Hospice and Commissioner Terry Burroughs. We’re excited for our 2022 class and can’t wait to see all that they accomplish and learn from this experience.

Spring Business Exchange Luncheon – April 27 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Indian River State College Dixon-Hendry Campus (Williamson Center- Okeechobee). Allow us to introduce you to our brand new award-winning hospital. New name, same family. How exciting for us to have them share all the new connected and collaborative healthcare experiences that will be available for Floridians and visitors in years to come.

As they strive to do their best in the day-to-day care, service to others, caring, prayers and sometime tears, let’s give our doctors, nurses, administrative team, staff and health care workers the support they need to continue providing the best for our community.

You don’t want to miss meeting them and hearing all the updates that they will share. It’s going to be a riveting time for them and us.

Lunch will be catered by D & G Catering and the cost will remain $18 prior to April 19 and $20 thereafter. You’ll want to get registered as soon as possible as there will be limited seating for this event. Doors will open at 11:30 a.m. and lunch will be served at 11:45 a.m. Register at www.okeechobeebusiness.com, look for the April 27 luncheon scrolling on the left side, click on it and then fill out the registration form. All our events are always open to the public and a great way to network with businesses, friends and new acquaintances.

Our next Rise Up with the Chamber will be hosted by T-Mobile and will be held on Thursday, April 28, 7:45 to 8:30 a.m. at their T-Mobile store located at 3236 U.S. 441 South in the Winn-Dixie Plaza. T-Mobile is one of our new Platinum Partners; and Carmen and her team want to share all the great programs that they have to offer.

We’ll have two other guest speakers who will share information about their organization/business. Be sure and mark your calendar for this early morning event.

Light breakfast items will be served. Be sure to watch the replays later in the day as Mariah will be videoing each guest for our live Facebook post. Hope to see you there. As always our events are always open to the public.

Our 2022 Okeechobee County Business Journal & Chamber Guide has arrived. If you would like to stop by and pick up one, please do.
