OKEECHOBEE — The Chamber of Commerce has been given a special “scout elf” this year and we have named him Jolly. Jolly has been given the responsibility of visiting many of our Chamber businesses to see what they have to offer as a reminder for us to “Shop Local” this season.

You can keep track of his travels around town by daily checking our Facebook page (facebook.com/OkeeChamber). Along with Jolly’s help, we want to make this the best shopping local event now through the Christmas holidays. Our local businesses have a lot to offer, so make sure to check them out.

You might even want to stop by and get your photo taken with him to be posted on our Facebook page. Another great way to advertise your business too!

The National Small Business Saturday event will be happening on Saturday, Nov. 26, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Our Village, Chamber of Commerce and Okeechobee Main Street have been working to help promote this national event for our local businesses. Many Park Street stores will be open and participating as well as many store front businesses, home based and other vendors will be located in the area around Our Village for easier access for our shoppers.

This event is open to any business within our community. Don’t miss out! Make sure to shop local this year and have a great shopping experience. Support them and you’re supporting our community! Be sure to pick up your passport at Our Village or the Chamber on Wednesday, then stop by at Our Village Saturday to check out all the great deals.
