VFW 4423 holds bingo
OKEECHOBEE — VFW Post 4423. 300 N.W. 34th St., will hold the following events: Three-card bingo will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 25, at 6 p.m. Dauber bingo is Friday, Nov. 27 at 1 p.m. Catfish or hamburger dinners at 6 p.m. Karaoke with Allen at 7 p.m. Dauber bingo is Saturday, Nov. 28 at 11 a.m. at 1 p.m. Cold beverages will be served on Sunday, Nov. 29. Three-card bingo is Monday, Nov. 30, at 1 p.m. Dauber bingo is Tuesday, Dec. 1, at 6 p.m.

Legion Post 64 hosts events
OKEECHOBEE — American Legion Post 64, 501 S.E. Second St., will host the following events: On Wednesday, Nov. 25, margaritas are $1.50 and tacos are available from 11 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. The grill will be open too with music by D&K Karaoke from 3 to 6 p.m. Call 863-763-5309, for takeout orders. On Thursday, Nov. 26, the post will be closed for Thanksgiving. On Friday, Nov. 27, wear a red shirt and get registered for a free dinner for two with the Auxiliary Friday Fish Fry. The kitchen is open from 5 to 8 p.m. and enjoy live music with MT Pockets from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, is Sporting Saturday with happy hour all day and $9 buckets of domestic beer. Sunday, Nov. 29, is Sporting Weekend with NFL games, drafts and chicken wing specials. On Monday, Nov. 30, five-card bingo is from 1 to 3 p.m. and lunch starts at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1, is Top Shelf Tuesday where you can sign up for your choice of any bottle in stock drawn the first Tuesday of each month. You can purchase bloody Mary’s and buckets of domestic beer all day. Lunch is also served all day and it is meeting day.

RLCR yard sale to begin
OKEECHOBEE — The Real Life Children’s Ranch, 7777 U.S. 441, yard sale will open on Wednesday, Dec. 2 through Dec. 4. It will also be open on the first Saturday of each month, so it will be open on Dec. 5. The hours are from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. All customers are asked to please wear a mask.

Glades County

Free HIV testing available
MOORE HAVEN — Glades County Health Department, 1021 Health Park Drive, will offer free HIV testing for anyone on Tuesday, Dec. 1, from 8:30 to and 1 to 4:30 p.m.

VFW Post 9528 holds events
BUCKHEAD RIDGE — The VFW Post 9528, 29012 State Road 78 East, will host the following events: Dauber bingo will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 25, from 1 to 4 p.m. AMVETS will serve kielbasa with sauerkraut dinner at 5 p.m. until it runs out. Quarter card bingo is Thursday, Nov. 26, from 2 to 4 p.m. Three-card bingo is Friday, Nov. 27, from noon to 2 p.m. Dinner is from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Menu includes grilled rib eye steak, grilled pork tenderloin, fried fish and shrimp, baked and french fried potatoes, baked sweet potatoes, fried onion rings, salad and dessert. Music by Karaoke Kop from 6 to 10 p.m. The VFW Riders will serve a full breakfast on Saturday, Nov. 28, from 8:30 to 11 a.m. and sloppy joes with fries at 5 p.m. The AMVETS will serve a full breakfast on Sunday, Nov. 29, from 8:30 to 11a.m. Five-card bingo is Sunday, Nov. 30, at 5 p.m. On Monday, Nov. 30, washers at 1 p.m., Wii bowling at 4 p.m. and five-card cookie bingo at 6 p.m. followed by Center - Right - Left. On Tuesday, Dec. 1, Son’s of Amvets will serve sliders at 5:30 p.m. and cornhole at 6:30 p.m. On Wednesday, Dec. 2 is dauber bingo from 1 to 4 p.m. Proceeds from all events benefit veteran services. Donations sought for wreaths
BUCKHEAD RIDGE — On Saturday, Dec. 19, at 11:30 a.m., the Buckhead Ridge VFW Post 9528 will host the Glades County Wreaths across America placement of wreaths on 354 veterans’ graves at Ortona Cemetery, 8898 SR 78 W. The post is asking for a donation of $15 each, or get three wreaths for $30. Hendry County

Elks host hoop shoot
CLEWISTON — The Clewiston Elks will host its local Hoop Shoot on Saturday, Nov. 28, at the basketball court of the Clewiston Youth Development Academy at 435 E. Circle Drive, weather permitting. Due to the coronavirus, only the local and district competitions will be held this year. Distancing and mask protocols will be in place for this event. Age groups for Girls and Boys are 8-9, 10-11, and 12-13. Age restrictions are in place. Medals will be awarded to the top three in each division. Medal winners will be invited to the Elks Southeast District Hoop Shoot at the Okeechobee Sports Complex on Saturday, Dec. 19. Registration for the local contest is from 9-9:30 AM.

Free HIV testing
CLEWISTON/LABELLE — Hendry County Health Department will offer free HIV testing for anyone on Tuesday, Dec. 1, from 8:30 to and 1 to 4:30 p.m. at their clinic locations: 1100 Olympia St. in Clewiston and 1140 Pratt Blvd. in LaBelle.

Kiwanis resets Kids’ Day
LABELLE — LaBelle Kiwanis Club’s Annual Kids’ Day event has been rescheduled for Saturday, Jan. 23, at Barron Park, 1559 De Soto Ave. from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
