Okeechobee County

Yard sale to be held
OKEECHOBEE — A yard sale will be held on Saturday, March 27, from 8 a.m. to noon at 2709 S.E. 34th Lane. All sorts of items available including: coffe table, tool chest, misc. cabinets, end tables, lamps, life chair, tv mount, and a large assortment of baking items.

VFW to host events
OKEECHOBEE — VFW Post 4423, 300 N.W. 34th St., will host the following events: On Thursday, March 25, dauber bingo is at 1 p.m. On Friday, March 26, dauber bingo is at 1 p.m. and karaoke with Bobby T is at 7 p.m. On Saturday, March 27, dauber bingo is at 1 p.m. On Monday, March 29, three-card bingo is at 1 p.m. On Tuesday, March 30, dauber bingo is at 1 p.m.

Legion to host events
OKEECHOBEE — American Legion Post 64, 501 S.E. Second St., will host the following events: On Friday, March 26, wear red to get registered for a free dinner for two at the Auxiliary Fish Fry. Kitchen is open from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Enjoy live music with The Nashville Voice karaoke from 6 to 9 p.m. On Saturday, March 27, Patty will be starting quarter bingo from 1 to 3 p.m. and there will be a light lunch available. Saturday is also Happy Hour and you can purchase buckets of domestic beer all day. On Sunday, March 28, enjoy Sporting Weekend with NASCAR. You can purchase drafts and there will be chicken wing specials. On Monday, March 29, five-card bingo is from 1 to 3 p.m. Lunch begins at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 30, is Top Shelf Tuesday where you can sign up for your choice of any bottle in stock drawn the first Tuesday of each month. Lunch is served all day. It is also meeting day and meetings are at 6 p.m. Purchase Bloody Mary’s and buckets of domestic beer all day. On Wednesday, March 31, you can purchase margaritas all day. Tacos are available from 11 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. and the grill will be open too. Enjoy music performed by Kevin Stripling the Karaoke Kop from 3 to 6 p.m. For take-out orders on any day, please call ahead at 863-763-5309.

Plan to Meet the Artist event
OKEECHOBEE — Our Village, 205 N.E. Second St., will hold a Meet the Artist event featuring Lonnie Kirsch on Friday, March 26, from 5 to 7 p.m. Admission is free and the public is invited to attend. Light refreshments will be available.

Sunrise service to be held
OKEECHOBEE — An Easter Sunrise Service will be held on Sunday, April 4, at 6:30 a.m. at the Scott Driver Pavilion, 10100 S.R. 78 W. (on the north side of S.R. 78 W. across from the entrance to Okee-Tanti). Pastor Don Hanna of First United Methodist Church will be sharing the message. Please bring lawn chairs if you wish to sit as there will be a limited number of folding chairs available.

Get free tax preparation

OKEECHOBEE — Get your free tax preparation and e-filing by AARP certified taxaid volunteers at the American Legion, 501 S.E. Second St. on Monday and Tuesday of each week from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. By appointment only. For information or to schedule an appointment, call Sandy Hoffman at 863-623-5277. Must bring picture ID, social security cards for all dependents, last year’s tax return and all 2020 financial papers.

VFW hosts events
BUCKHEAD RIDGE — VFW Post 9528, 29012 State Road 78, will host the following events: Dauber bingo is Thursday, March 25, at 1 to 4 p.m. Three-card bingo is Friday, March 26, at noon to 2 p.m. Dinner will be served from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Menu includes grilled rib eye steak, grilled pork tenderloin, fried fish and shrimp with sides and dessert. Music by Karaoke Kop 6 to 10 p.m. VFW Riders will serve full breakfast Saturday, March 27, from 8 to 11 a.m. and dinner at 5 p.m. A full breakfast is Sunday, March 28 from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Five-card bingo starts at 5 p.m. On Monday, March 29, washers is at 1 p.m., Wii bowling at 4 p.m. and five-card cookie bingo at 6 p.m. followed by Right - Left - Center. Euchre at 6 p.m. Sons’ sliders is Tuesday, March 30 at 5:30 p.m. and cornhole at 6:30 p,m. Burgers and fries is Wednesday, March 31, at 12:30 to 2 p.m. Quarter bingo is at 2 to 4 p.m. The Sons will serve spaghetti and meatball dinner at 5 p.m. til out.

Muse Honey Festival date set
MUSE — The Muse Honey Festival will be held on Saturday, March 27 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Muse Firehouse, 1125 Rainbow Blvd. Featuring Mavis “The Honeygirl” and BBQ from Angry Veterans Catering. There will also be honey, live music (Southwind Bluegrass Band), food, vendors, and all types of activities for adults and kids. Bring a chair and enjoy the music. Vaccinations available
MUSE — Walk-in and appointments for the first dose of covid-19 vaccinations will be available at the Muse Honey Festival on Saturday, March 27, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Glades County Health Department will be providing them at the Muse Volunteer Fire Department, 1125 Rainbow Blvd. Please use the website to pre-register for appointments at: my vaccine.fl.gov/ or call 866-201-6745. You will be required to fill out local health department paperwork on site and you will be notified about your second dose before exiting.

Hendry County

Cruise-In happens March 27
LABELLE — National Street Rod Association and the South Central Florida Car Club will host Member Appreciation Day and Open Cruise-In on Sunday, March 27, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Riverlanding Luxury Motor Coach Resort, 5942 State Road 80 W. This event is open to all. Event features specialty awards, raffles, DJ music, food truck, free safety inspections, and specials for NSRA members. Charity Golf tournament set

CLEWISTON — The annual Nicaragua Medical Mission Charity Golf tournament will be held on Saturday, March 27, at the Clewiston Golf course, 1201 San Luiz Ave. Registration begins at 8 a.m. and shotgun starts at 9 a.m. Individual cost is $75.00 with a foursome at $300.00. Included is lunch, a 50/50 raffle, and chances for various other valuable prizes, including a car for hole in one. Black Heritage Festival set
BELLE GLADE — The Black Heritage Festival is planned in Louis Butts Park, 1224 SW Avenue E, on March 27 and March 28. Come celebrate culture and community. On March 27, basketball pickup will be at 10 a.m.; weightlifting at noon; and presentations of trophies at 2 p.m. On March 28, at 4 p.m., there will be a free concert featuring Malcom Magic as well as praise dancers and local orators. Facial coverings are required.

DHCAC presents musical

Energetic program scheduled
BELLE GLADE — Free community based physical activity program for the month of April at the Glades Pioneer Park, 866 S.R. 715, on Monday and Wednesdays from 6 to 7 p.m.. Fun, energetic class with a combination of short resistance and endurance training bursts, folled by recovery periods to give you the ultimate total body workout.
