COVID-19 vaccinations in Florida delayed by winter storms in other states

First dose COVID-19 vaccinations in Florida may be delayed this week due to winter storms in other states.  This should not affect those with appointments for their second doses of the vaccine.

OKEECHOBEE COUNTY

The Florida Department of Health in Okeechobee County was notified by the State of Florida on Tuesday, Feb. 16, that the expected shipment of Moderna COVID-19 vaccines will be delayed this week due to weather. As a result, the distribution scheduled for this week in Okeechobee County will be delayed until further notice. A future distribution date will be scheduled as soon as information on vaccine availability is provided to the Florida Department of Health in Okeechobee.

Okeechobee County continues to work closely with Department of Health officials to offer any support and resources necessary to ensure the community needs can be met. All questions regarding proof of Florida residency should be directed to the Florida Department of Health in Okeechobee County at 863-462-5800, Florida’s COVID-19 Call Center available 24/7 at +1 (866) 779-6121 or email COVID-19@flhealth.gov.

HENDRY COUNTY

Due to the weather issues throughout the U.S., the Florida Department of Health in Hendry County has been informed that vaccine delivery will be delayed for this week.

There will be no first-dose vaccinations in Hendry County (LaBelle and Clewiston) this week.  
 
An announcement will be made when more vaccines are received in Hendry County. 
 
Individuals who  have appointments for their second dose  will receive their vaccine in LaBelle on Wednesday, Feb. 17 and in Clewiston on Thursday, Feb. 18. 
 
GLADES COUNTY
Glades County conducted  walk-in vaccination clinics in Moore Haven on Feb. 14 and Feb. 15. When Glades County receives more vaccine, they will announce more  vaccination opportunties.
 
PALM BEACH COUNTY
Palm Beach County has also received word that vaccine shipments have been delayed.  Appointments for vaccine will be made when more vaccine is available. Palm Beach County is still working through the wait list of appointments made via email.  Publix pharmacies in Palm Beach County will also make appointments as vaccine becomes available.
