Cracker Trail Ride will travel through Okeechobee on Feb. 18 and 19

OKEECHOBEE -- The Florida Cracker Trail Association is a non-profit organization of volunteers dedicated to the mission of “Keeping History Alive,” by educating through demonstration, the Old Florida Cracker Pioneer ways of agriculture, animal husbandry, and respect for the land as well as the hardships and joys of life on the original frontier.

The 2021 Cracker Trail Ride will be traveling through Okeechobee County on Feb. 18 and 19. It will begin on Thursday afternoon on U.S. 98 North, across the Kissimmee River bridge to 700A.

On Friday, Feb. 19, the ride will resume at 700A, traveling south on U.S. 98 North, traveling south to State Road 68 West. It will proceed to U.S. 441, then travel northbound to State Road 68 East to the St. Lucie County line.

The Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office will be accompanying the trail ride to ensure the safety of the participants. Traffic delays are expected on both days. Please slow down when approaching and passing the ride.
