On Feb. 17, at approximately 8 a.m., School Resource Officer Demarcus Dixon received a report from students and staff members at Osceola Middle School regarding written threats to kill, and to seriously injure others. The threat was posted on the Social Media Platform Snapchat by two former students of Osceola Middle School. The students were quickly identified as Nathion Hunter Willet age 14, and Bruce Obrien Troy Cruce, also age 14. The Snapchat conversations were allegedly posted on the evening of Thursday, February 16, 2023.
Deputy Doval met with an unidentified student and his parent at their home this morning to confirm the snapchat conversation.
Once the conversation was confirmed, deputies were able to positively identify the individuals who were making the written threats.
Deputies then determined that Nathion Hunter Willet attends Southwest Middle School in Palm Bay, FL. Contact was made with the Palm Bay Police Department and the School Resource Office for Southwest Middle School to inform them of the written threats.
Deputy Bunting made contact with Bruce Obrien Troy Cruce at his residence and conducted a threat assessment, Where Bruce positively identified the snapchat conversation as his.
Based upon the written threats, Bruce Cruce was arrested at his residence and transported to the Okeechobee County Jail, where he was charged with violation of FSS 836.10 Written Threats to Kill or Cause bodily Injury. He was released to the custody of the Department of Juvenile Justice. A warrant was issued for Nathion Hunter Willett, for violation of FSS 3836.10 Written Threats to Kill or Cause Bodily Injury. His last know location is Palm Bay Florida, Brevard County.
