Deputy recognized for saving a life

Posted
OKEECHOBEE -- Meet Uniformed Patrol Deputy Sheriff Robert "Bob" Murtagh.

On July 10, 2021, Deputy Murtagh was dispatched on a shortness-of-breath call. Prior to arrival, the victim had stopped breathing.

Arriving within minutes, Deputy Murtagh went right to work assisting the bystander giving CPR until EMS arrived. Despite "coding" several times on the way to the hospital, inevitably, the victim lived.

There is no doubt that Deputy Murtagh’s assistance on the scene played a part in saving the victims' life. For his actions, OSCO was proud to present the Life Saving Award.
OCSO, Robert Murtagh
