OKEECHOBEE —Detective Ryane Ammons is the recipient of the Okeechobee County Sheriff's  Law Enforcement Officer of the Year Award.

Ryane was nominated not only by one of his command staff, but also by several of his peers.

Detective Ammons goes above and beyond in his duties as a Detective.  He is able to maintain his regular case load, as well as his on call assignments, and  is willing to take extra on call time when needed.  He does in house training, all while attending his own career training.

Since taking over the responsibility of monitoring sex offenders and predators residing in Okeechobee County,  Ammons has kept current with the laws governing sex offenders and predators.  He has kept close track of the offenders, monitoring check ins, address changes, and has made numerous violation arrests that have led to convictions for non compliance, resulting in a safer community for Okeechobee County.

In the words of one of his peers.  " I believe Detective Ammons is an asset to our agency and should be recognized for his hard work."
