Detective receives recognition

Posted

OKEECHOBEE — Dawn and Christopher Martin presented Okeechobee County Sheriff's  Detective Ryane Ammons with an award from the REPAIR Initiative.  This award is for the hard work and dedication Detective Ammons has shown in keeping children safe, and keeping sex offenders and predators accountable and in compliance.   Most recently, in his joint effort with surrounding agencies and the US Marshals for his “Operation Update” which yielded several arrests.

The REPAIR Initiative was founded by Dawn and Christopher Martin in an effort to educate local families on the importance of teaching children how to speak up,  how to keep children safe on the internet, and how to avoid potential dangers and risks associated with sex crimes against children.
