INDIANTOWN — Several elected officials, staff, and other organizations were invited to meet with the Assistant Secretary of the Army [ASA] Michael Connor at the C44 reservoir in Martin County near Indiantown. As ASA Connor’s plan was delayed, they met with his deputy, Trish Anslow, and Angela Walker, lead planner for the ASA office.
Elected officials included: Commissioners Terry Burroughs and David Hazellief from Okeechobee and Doug Smith and Sarah Heard from Martin County; Mayor Dowling Watford from the City of Okeechobee; and Mayor Merritt Matheson of Stuart. The participants were able to discuss the benefits of the C44 to the Indian River Lagon and the LOSOM process.
