FFA Club installs nesting boxes for ducks

Posted

OKEECHOBEE -- This week, South Florida Water Management District  (SFWMD) land management staff assisted students from Yearling Middle School’s Future Farmers of America Club with the installation of wood duck boxes at the Taylor Creek Stormwater Treatment Area. The new boxes will provide nesting habitat for wood ducks.

A key part of SFWMD’s mission is to protect, restore and manage natural areas and ecosystems that support wildlife. Taking care of our native species helps ensure our ecosystems stay healthy and balanced.
