Give the “Gift of Education” this holiday season

OKEECHOBEE — 2020 is (finally) coming to an end, which means the Okeechobee Education Foundation’s Year-End giving campaign is just getting started!

When you give to our local education foundation, 100% of your contribution goes toward impacting the lives and educations of our students in Okeechobee County.

As an individual donor, your ability to deduct cash donations increased from 60% to 100% of income for 2020. Also, donors who use the standard deduction can deduct an additional $300 for cash contributions to a public charity.

As a corporation, your ability to deduct charitable contributions increased from 10% to 25% of income.

Your Gift of Education places some of our most vulnerable students at a more equitable place along their educational journey.

Your Gift of Education will also help us:
• ensure students have access to the supplies, devices and other resources needed to succeed in the classroom and beyond

• provide high-quality educational programs to prepare our students for college
• increase literacy scores and the percentage of students considered ready for kindergarten on the FLKRS assessment by 20%
• develop and manage a teacher resource store
• provide teachers with professional development according to their specific needs
• implement a literacy mentorship program to improve grade-level reading rates
• streamline and add more career and college planning services for students
• support Take Stock in Children scholarships to increase graduation rates
The brightness of our children’s futures relies on the strength of the community behind them. Please consider a gift of education today. Visit our Facebook page or okeechobee-educational-foundation-inc.square.site to donate.

If you are interested in more information or would like to offer a monthly or annual pledge (of any amount!), please contact Erin Moore at 863-462-5000, ext. 1057, or erin.moore@okee.k12.fl.us.
