Glades Electric shares update

Posted

Glades Electric shared this update at 9 a.m. on Sept. 30:

All crews will be actively working today to repair services. Based upon yesterday's assessments, we believe the majority of services in Glades and Hendry counties will be restored by the end of the weekend. In Highlands and Okeechobee, we expect it will take a few additional days in those areas.

Some good news for members on our Lorida and Willie Chappel (Highlands Park) substations: Duke has reenergized their transmission lines to those subs, restoring some power to those areas. Now we can more easily locate which areas on our lines from those substations need repair.

In Highlands, today we're working in the Highlands Park, Lake Josephine, East Hwy 70, and Venus areas.

In Okeechobee, we're working in the 441, 68, 700A areas.

In Glades, we're working on areas served by the Ortona substation.

In Hendry, today we're working in Ladeca, Pioneer, Collins Slough, the Ranchettes, Gutwein and Montura.

Our data connectivity is down once again this morning, affecting our system data retrieval and live outage map, so we don't have current outage numbers to share. We'll pass those along as soon as we have internet service again.

Phones are still down, too, and CenturyLink does not expect to restore them today.

For those who were here for Hurricane Irma, rest assured we do expect our system to be fully restored much faster than the 11 days after that event.
