Historical Society has holiday ornament

Posted

OKEECHOBEE — The Okeechobee Historical Society is pleased to announce they have their first historical Christmas ornament available now for purchase. Many of you have collected the previous historical ornaments that were sold by the Okeechobee Retired Educators or those during the Centennial Celebrations. This new ornament will match those. As you can see from the picture, the design is the log cabin of Peter and Louisiana Raulerson, Okeechobee’s first settlers.

The ornament may be purchased for $15 at a variety of places. The Historical Society will have a booth at the Main Street Christmas Festival on Saturday, Dec. 12 from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. The ornament will also be available at the Okeechobee Chamber of Commerce office during normal business hours and at the Historical Society Museum on Thursdays when the Tantie Quilters are present from 9:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. Proceeds from the sale of the ornament will go towards scholarships and projects of the Society.
