In the Courts
The following felony cases have either been tried in a court of law or have been settled without trial and are considered closed.

• William Bussey was sentenced to two months in county jail after pleading no contest to charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving without a license. Bussey was arrested February 6, 2021 after a domestic dispute.

• Robert Eugene Thompson was sentenced to one year, 10 months and 28 days in state prison followed by two years probation after pleading no contest to neglect of an elderly or disabled adult without great bodily harm. Charges of aggravated abuse of an elderly or disabled adult and sexual battery of someone physically helpless were dropped. Thompson was arrested in August 2019 along with his sister, Cheryl Starbuck. Starbuck entered a no contest plea to charges of neglect and grand theft. She was sentenced to one year, one month and 24 days in county jail followed by three years probation. In her case, a charge of aggravated battery of an elderly or disabled adult was dropped.


• James Timmons was sentenced to two years, three months and 18 days in state prison after pleading no contest to charges of escape and two counts battery on a law enforcement officer or emergency medical personnel. Timmons was arrested in September 2020 at Lock 7 when he was found passed out. He attempted to punch a deputy in the face and later tried to punch a paramedic.


• Zachary Voss was sentenced to three years drug offender probation after pleading no contest to possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Voss was arrested August 2020 during a traffic stop for failure to wear a seatbelt.


• Randall Wood was sentenced to five years probation after pleading no contest to charges of attempted aggravated battery, leaving the scene of a crash without giving information, fleeing or eluding and resisting an officer without violence. Wood was arrested in May 2020 after he left his three young children home alone, and went to the store where the children’s mother worked to buy beer. When the children’s mother became upset about the children being home alone, he backed his truck up and rammed her vehicle three times.


• Terry Wright was sentenced to two years probation after pleading no contest to writing a worthless check. Wright was arrested August 2020 after deliberately writing a bad check.


• Allen Aldridge was sentenced to one year and one day in state prison followed by three years probation after pleading no contest to charges of possession of methadone, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Aldridge was arrested May 2020 after threatening his girlfriend with a gun.


• David Garrett was sentenced to four months and 29 days probation after pleading no contest to possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest without violence. Garrett was arrested October 2020 after swerving his bicycle in front of oncoming traffic causing a vehicle to take evasive action.


• Bryan Adams was sentenced to four months in county jail after pleading no contest to battery on a law enforcement officer and driving without a license. Charges of corruption by threat and resisting an officer without violence were dropped. Adams was arrested in April 2020 after he was accused of threatening people with a gun. Deputies did not find a firearm at the time of the arrest.


• Shawn Eckenwiler was sentenced to one year in county jail after pleading no contest to possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and two counts petit theft. Eckenwiler was arrested in October 2020 during a traffic stop.


• Clarence McDuffie was sentenced to two years probation after pleading no contest to possession of cocaine. McDuffie was arrested September 2019 during a traffic stop.
