In the Courts

The following felony cases have either been tried in a court of law or have been settled without trial and are considered closed.

  • Craig Morgan was sentenced to two years and two months in state prison after pleading no contest to possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Morgan was arrested in May 2021when he and a passenger were found sleeping in a 2001 silver Chrysler at the Waters Edge RV Park.
  • Ryan Mellette was sentenced to six months in county jail after pleading no contest to possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Mellette was arrested in October 2021during a traffic stop.
  • LaShay Butler was sentenced to two years in state prison after pleading no contest to sale of cocaine and possession with intent to sell. She was arrested in September 2020 during an undercover operation by the narcotics task force.
  • Taylor Carter was sentenced to two years’ probation after pleading no contest to possession of oxycodone. Adjudication was withheld. She was arrested in September 2020 during an undercover operation by the narcotics task force.
  • Reed Hair was sentenced to two years and six months in state prison after pleading no contest to possession of meth and resisting arrest. He was arrested in November 2021.
  • Robert Hair was sentenced to six months in county jail followed by three years’ probation after pleading no contest to burglary, criminal mischief and petit theft. He was arrested in February 2021 after stealing from a woman’s storage unit.
  • Jonathan Eaves was sentenced to 18 days in county jail followed by two years’ probation after pleading no contest to possession of meth, possession of drug paraphernalia and leaving a child unattended in a vehicle. Adjudication was withheld. Three charges of child neglect without great bodily harm were dropped. He was arrested in December 2020.
  • After violating probation, Jentry Griffin was sentenced to 90 days in county jail followed by reinstatement of probation. Griffin was arrested in March 2021 and charged with sale of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a specified area and possession with intent to sell. He entered a no contest plea and was sentenced to three years’ probation but violated probation by failing to report to his probation officer and failing to pay fees.
  • Shelley Hogan was sentenced to three months and seven days in county jail followed by two years’ probation after pleading no contest to possession of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia. Adjudication was withheld. Hogan was arrested in May 2021 after falling asleep and running her truck into a ditch near the Speckled Perch Restaurant.
  • Anjelica Miller was sentenced to 15 days in county jail after pleading no contest to petit theft. A charge of dealing in stolen property was dropped. Miller was arrested in April 2021 after stealing a firearm. Originally, she as charged with grand theft, but the charge was later reduced.
  • Randy Thornton was sentenced to four months in county jail after pleading no contest to possession of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia. Thornton was arrested in June 2021 during a traffic stop.
  • Morgan Tibbett was sentenced to one month in county jail after allegedly violating pretrial release terms on a domestic violence charge.
  • Jaylen Boswell was sentenced to 18 months’ probation after pleading no contest to battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting an officer with violence and driving on a suspended license. Boswell was arrested in

Withheld adjudication generally refers to a decision by a judge to put a person on probation without an adjudication of guilt. It means an individual is not found guilty legally by the court. If the person successfully completes the terms of probation and has no subsequent offenses, no further action will be taken on the case, and the offense for which adjudication was withheld is typically not considered a prior conviction for purposes of habitual offender sentencing.
