OKEECHOBEE — The Dixon Hendry Campus of Indian River State College (IRSC) invites area residents to join the festivities at its first Fall Festival, on Saturday, Nov. 6, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Activities take place at the campus grounds at 2229 N.W. 9th Avenue in Okeechobee.

“Our College family is delighted to present this celebration of fall to our Okeechobee neighbors,” shares Campus President Russ Brown. “We invite you to learn about everything that IRSC has to offer and meet the friendly faces who work at our campus. You’ll also enjoy family-friendly activities, entertainment and more.”

The event promises fun for all ages with food trucks, music from the Chobee Steelers, a bounce house and dunk tank, and giveaways. Participants will learn about IRSC degree programs, dual enrollment programs for high school students, and workforce programs that lead to careers in welding, HVAC, automotive technology, healthcare and more. They can also meet Dixon Hendry faculty and staff and learn about financial aid opportunities. IRSC Health and Wellness staff will be on hand to administer COVID-19 vaccines to those who are interested. Pre-registration is required for the vaccination clinic.

For more information about Fall Festival or to register for the vaccination clinic, contact Maria Johnson at 863-824-6006 or email mgjohnso@irsc.edu.
