Kitty smuggled into elementary school

Posted

OKEECHOBEE — The crime of the century occurred this week at North Elementary School as a third-grade student "accidentally" smuggled a cat into the school in her backback. Fear not though, the girl was not punished in any way.

According to assistant principal Heather Briney, the student went to her teacher first thing in the morning and told her she thought her kitty came to school with her, but she had no idea how the cat got into her backpack.

The kitty spent some time in the principal's office where she was loved on by everyone who met her before being picked up by a family member, who was very surprised to learn of the smuggling operation.

North Elementary School's mascot is a tiger, so possibly the cat was hoping to apply for a mascot position.
