OKEECHOBEE — The Kiwanis Club of Okeechobee celebrated its 50th anniversary and installation of its 2021-2022 officers with a 70’s disco themed banquet at The Downtown Venue.

The Club was founded in June of 1971 and has served the youth of the community for 50 years. The Kiwanis Club of Okeechobee was the first service club to provide scholarships at Okeechobee High School and mini-grants to teachers. In addition, the club supports Real Life Childrens Ranch with school supplies, the Pregnancy Center of Okeechobee with baby items, and Martha’s House with cleaning supplies. Key and builders clubs have been sponsored over the years to promote service and leadership to middle and high school students.

Kiwanis Division 16 Lt. Gov. Richard Schlitt installed the new and returning officers: Pres. Roger Azcona, Past-Pres. Don Hanna, Secretary Dowling Watford, and Treasurer Sherri Enfinger. Board members are Courtney Moyett, Noel Stephen, Joe Papasso, Llesenia Martinez, Corey Wheeler, and Ken Keller.
