Kiwanis Club inducts members to Hall of Fame

Posted

OKEECHOBEE — The Kiwanis Club of Okeechobee held its fourth annual Hall of Fame induction ceremony on April 1, at First United Methodist Church. The inductees for 2021 were Bob Butler (posthumously) and Ken Keller.

Bob Butler was a charter member and past-president of the Club, and was instrumental in establishing the Farm-City Lunch. Bob also had a project during his term called the “Chobee Spotlight” to feature a special person each week who had a positive impact on the community. Bob was a second generation dairy farmer, a WWII veteran, and a former SFWMD Board Member. His wife Mildred, son Bob, and grandsons Will and Ben were in attendance to represent the family.

Ken Keller is a 3 term president of the Club, active in the radio auction, Santa-in-the-Park, Easter Pancake breakfast, and every event the club does. He is also on the board of trustees of First Untied Methodist Church, the Chamber of Commerce Board, Healthy Start Board, and is a Big with Big Brothers Big Sisters. He was also named Big of the Year for the Treasure Coast in 2020.

Congratulation to the Butler family and to Ken for this honor. The Kiwanis Club is thankful for your service.
