Kiwanis learns about Guardian Ad Litem

Posted

Nicole Hughes with The Guardian Ad Litem program for Okeechobee County spoke to the Kiwanis Club of Okeechobee on May 19 about the program designed to advocate for children in foster care.

Guardian Ad Litem is a volunteer powered network of committed people from all walks of life who believe society has a fundamental obligation to these children.

Hughes says that it is important to advocate for the child to make sure that their needs and resources are being met.

Guardian Ad Litem also assists in the decision on when to reunite the child with their family.
