Posted

According to the CDC (Center for Disease Control), 10 people in Florida, Massachusetts and New York have been infected with a strain of Listeria. All 10 have been hospitalized, and one death has been reported in Florida. Epidemiologic evidence indicates deli meat is the most likely source of the outbreak. Each reported purchasing prepackaged deli meats and/or meats sliced at deli counters in various locations. As of now, a specific type of deli meat and common supplier have not been identified.
