Okeechobee man is stabbed twice

Posted

OKEECHOBEE — After he was stabbed, a man claimed he was jumped by three strangers.

On Thursday, Feb. 25, Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Deputy Timothy Porter responded to Raulerson Hospital in reference to a stabbing.

The victim had been stabbed twice and claimed to have been jumped by three men on the corner of Northwest 43rd avenue and 18th Street. He told Porter the men did not take anything, and after the stabbing, he ran to his neighbor’s house for help. He did not want to make a report, because he did not know who the men were.

According to Porter’s report, he made contact with the neighbor, who was waiting for the victim to leave the emergency room. The neighbor claimed the stabbing was actually done by the victim’s girlfriend. When Porter confronted the man with what his neighbor said, the man agreed that it was Donna Soborowicz, 43, who stabbed him in the face and chest. He explained Soborowicz began punching him in the face earlier  and then grabbed a knife and stabbed him while shouting, “I’m going to kill you.”

Soborowicz was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. Her bond was set at $5,000.
