Meet Operations Lieutenant Randy Thomas

Posted
OKEECHOBEE -- Reports of an aggressive bovine near the Hubert Hoover Dike began circulating within the community.
The last known location was verified, and Lt. Randy Thomas formulated the animal's trapping and removal.
Personally tracking the animal for hours within thick vegetation, Lt. Thomas located and put himself within feet of the aggressive and cornered bovine to rope it.

After the bovine was secured and then tranquilized by Lt. Thomas, it was safely loaded and transported to a secured, more suitable location, free from the public. During this incident, Lt. Thomas put himself at significant risk with a physically upset, bovine, turning towards and rushing him several times.

His actions proved his leadership value by all present, and for that reason, he will receive the OCSO Performance Award.
OCSO, Randy Thomas
