OKEECHOBEE — On Monday, May 15th, 2023, deputies responded to the 3600 block of NW Third St. (DeBerry Gardens) after someone reported an unresponsive male lying in a yard.

EMS was called and pronounced the individual dead. Detectives Romero and Cauley responded to investigate further. Through investigation, the person was identified as 54-year-old Juan Garcia Posada.

The cause of death is unconfirmed, but there are no signs of foul play. We are also looking for a Hispanic male, approximately 53 years old, possibly named Santiago Lopez.

Lopez was possibly visiting the individual who may have information that could help shed light on his cause of death.
