OCSO volunteer of the year is celebrated

OKEECHOBEE -- Meet O.C.S.O. Volunteer of the Year, Mr. Howard Shelkie.

Mr. Shelkie is a longtime member of the Citizen Observer Patrol and holds the rank of Volunteer - Sgt. Mr. Shelkie ensures that the fleet's three vehicles are always serviceable, addressing any issues.

Mr. Shelkie is also one of the main contributors to orientating newer members with patrol, paperwork, work assignments, and protocol. He is also a fixture at most parades helping the City Police Department with traffic detours (He requests because he loves to help).
