OHS Fishing Team wins State Championship

Posted

OKEECHOBEE — OHS Fishing team wins the State Championship. On June 12 and 13, Florida Bass Nation High School/Junior series held its State Championship on Lake Okeechobee out of the Scott Driver park. On day one Trent Nelson and Latt Durrance brought in a decent bag of fish weighing 17.79 pounds. This putting them in sixth place at the end of day one. They headed out on day two knowing they had some work to do with the leader having 21 lbs on day one. Trent and Latt say they went to a different area and quickly realized it was going to be a good day as they had a limit of fish by 7:30 a.m., but they also realized they still had some work to do and later in the day made a move and it paid off with two quality bites that gave them a heavy limit of fish. With 27.68 pounds of fish to be exact when the last team had weighed in Trent and Latt were on top and are the 2021 Florida Bass Nation High School Champions.
