OKEECHOBEE- Longtime Okeechobee High School Lady Brahman volleyball coach Taylor Padrick is stepping down from leading the team next season.

“I have enjoyed every moment, even the hard ones, for they’ve taught me much,” said Padrick in a message to parents. “Thank you for entrusting me with your kids. It was a good run.”

The Lady Brahmans earned multiple spots in the district playoffs throughout Taylor’s tenure, and were always competitive with the best teams in the area.

Last season the team finished the regular season with a 7-4 record. They went on to defeat Port. St Lucie in the district semifinal and earned a ticket to the regional playoffs.

In a letter announcing her resignation to the administration at OHS, Padrick thanked them for all their support throughout the years.

“Thank you so much for the opportunity to work in the position for the last eight seasons,” began the letter. “I’ve greatly enjoyed and appreciated the opportunities I’ve had to grow this program. I have learned much and have had great support. I’ll take with me many lessons and memories in this next season of my life.”

“I wish this program even greater success than I experienced with it, and am excited to watch them in the future,” concluded the letter. “This decision wasn’t an easy one. But it is time.”
