OHS wrestlers pin Clewiston and Lincoln Park

Posted

OKEECHOBEE- Okeechobee High School wrestlers were the last ones standing in a dual between the Brahmans, Clewiston Tigers and Lincoln Park Academy Greyhounds on Feb. 3.

Brahman wrestlers topped Clewiston 35-23 and Lincoln Park Academy 45-18.

Before the dual, the OHS wrestling team honored their seniors Travis McKenna, Jagger Gaucin, and Gabriel Bowen. All three were undefeated in their matches.

Okeechobee will wrestle at home again on Feb. 20 when they host the district tournament. Last year six  Brahmans were crowned champions in their weight class at the tournament — Charlie Armstrong, Cody Deloney, Travis McKenna, Isaac Herron, Todd Addington and Jose Monrroy.  The entire team qualified to advance to the regional tournament.

The Brahmans would go on to become regional champions and qualify seven wrestlers for the state tournament.

OHS wrestlers will try to replicate that success this year starting at the district tournament on Feb. 20 at 9 a.m.
