Okeechobee Arrest Report

OKEECHOBEE -- The following individuals were arrested on felony or driving under the influence (DUI) charges by the Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO), the Okeechobee City Police Department (OPD), the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), the Department of Corrections (DOC) or the Okeechobee Narcotics Task Force (ONTF).

• Joseph Hawkins, 31, U.S. 441 Southeast, was arrested Sept. 9 by OCSO and charged with four counts contempt of court on felony charges. He is being held without bond.

• Connie Cox, 56, Northeast 15th Avenue, was arrested Sept. 10 by ONTF and charged with possession and possession with intent to sell cocaine within 1,000 feet of a specified area. Bond was set at $120,000.

• Joshua Acevedo, 23, Northwest 37th Avenue, was arrested Sept. 13 by OCSO and charged with failure to register. Bond to be set by the judge.

• Techalin Joseph, 35, Northeast Fifth Street, was arrested Sept. 15 by OCSO and charged with battery, inmate on inmate. Bond was set at $5,000.

• Irashell Rosado Rosado, 37, U.S. 441 Southeast, was arrested Sept. 16 by OCSO and charged with child neglect with great bodily harm and intentional child abuse. Bond was set at $75,000.

• Michael Morris, 54, Northwest Sixth Avenue, was arrested Sept. 16 by OCSO and charged with two counts dealing in stolen property and two counts providing false information to a pawn shop. Bond was set at $8,000.

• James Vanover, 52, Northeast Eighth Avenue, was arrested Sept. 16 by OCSO and charged with battery, inmate on inmate. Bond was set at $5,000.

• Bradley Walters, 18, Bonita Springs, was arrested Sept. 16 by OCSO and charged with possession of marijuana over 20 grams, possession of marijuana resin and DUI. Bond was set at $6,500.

• Joseph Techalin, 35, Northeast Fifth Street, was arrested Sept. 15 by OCSO and charged with battery, inmate on inmate after video surveillance at the jail reportedly showed him attack another inmate. In April, Techalin was charged with possession of and sale of a controlled substance. Techalin served five years in prison after he entered a no contest plea to charges of possession of and sale of cocaine within 1,000 feet of a park in 2015.
