OKEECHOBEE -- Okeechobee veterans organizations gathered in the Veterans Memorial portion of Flagler Park in downtown Okeechobee for Memorial Day services, followed by a barbecue. Sheriff Noel Stephen cooked the pork for the pulled pork sandwiches. Proceeds from the barbecue will be used to maintain and upgrade Veterans Memorial Park.
