OKEECHOBEE - Okeechobee County Commissioners will hear the latest updates on the COVID-19 pandemic when they meet Wednesday, Dec. 23 at 9 a.m. in the Historic Okeechobee County Courthouse.
As of Dec. 22, 50 Okeechobee County residents have died related to COVID-19 according to the Florida Department of Health.
Other items on the agenda for the Dec. 23 meeting included:
• Minor revisions to the CARES Act grant program;
• A request from Martha’s House regarding the county property the organization currently leases;
• A lot lease at the Okeechobee County Airport;
• Financial update for the fiscal year;
• Request for funding by the Okeechobee County Economic Development Corporation;
• Disposition of a mobile home declared as surplus;
• Amendment to a lease agreement on the building that was temporarily used as the drivers license office.
