    • Okeechobee County Fire Rescue responded to a call regarding a brush fire in a rural area in Glades County on May 31. The call was an assist to The Forest Service. Glades requested the assist because they were out on another call. When they arrived, they were asked to extinguish spot fires in a large grass area.

    • On May 31, just before 9 a.m., OCFRA responded to a call regarding a vehicle fire on Southwest 14th When they arrived, they found a brown van approximately 25% involved. The van was about 3 feet away from a structure. They had the fire under control approximately 4 minutes after arrival. The fire was determined to be accidental.

    • On June 3 at approximately 6:45 p.m., OCFR responded to a call regarding a vehicle fire on Northwest 160th When they arrived, the vehicle was completely burned, and the fire was almost out. The owner said he parked to let cattle through a gate into another pasture. When he looked back, his truck was on fire.

    • On June 5 at approximately 6 p.m., OCFR responded to a call regarding a building fire on Northwest Seventh Court. When they arrived, they saw heavy black smoke coming from the garage area. The owners advised there were animals in one room of the house and asked firefighters to check on them. All animals were removed and were fine. The fire was determined to have started with the washing machine.
