The Okeechobee County School District announced the return to school on Sunday afternoon.

According to the website PowerOutages.us, by Oct. 2 Florida Power and Light has restored power to all Okeechobee County customers while Glades Electric still had 333 outages. The district also says the Okeechobee High School, Freshman Campus, and Osceola and Yearling Middles Schools will have shower facilities available for students if there is a need. Those students in need can bring soap, towel, and a change of clothes to have themselves ready for the day.

The Homecoming Dance at OHS originally set for Oct. 1 has been rescheduled to Oct. 15 from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. All Homecoming pregame festivities set for last week have been rescheduled for the home game on Oct. 14 when the Brahman football team host the Port St. Lucie Jaguars.
