Okeechobee Fire Report

• Okeechobee City Fire Department responded to 23 medical/EMS, two fire-related, eight motor vehicle accidents, two public assists and four false alarms last week.

• Okeechobee County Fire Rescue responded to 120 medical/EMS, three fire-related, five motor vehicle accidents, one public assist, three dispatch and canceled and seven miscellaneous calls last week. Out of 78 possible transports, seven were refused.

• On Oct. 3, OCFR responded to a call regarding a power line down in the 3600 block of Northwest 38th Avenue at approximately 7:30 p.m. When they arrived, they secured the scene until FPL arrived.

• On Oct. 2, OCFR responded to a call regarding a smoke detector activation in the 5700 block of Northeast Fourth Lane at approximately 10 a.m. When they arrived, they found the doors locked and no one home. They found no heat, no smoke, no fire threat. The owner was contacted and notified.
