• Okeechobee City Fire Department responded to 14 medical/EMS, two fire related, six motor vehicle, one false alarm and one canceled call between Nov. 16 and Nov. 22.
• Okeechobee County Fire Rescue responded to 83 medical/EMS, three fire related, 16 motor vehicle, four aircraft standby, three dispatch and cancel and three miscellaneous calls last week. Of 86 possible transports, 15 were refused.
• OCFD and OCFR responded to a call on Nov. 22 at approximately 10:45 a.m. regarding a building fire in the 200 block of Northeast 11th Street. When they arrived, there was light smoke come out under the front door. They made entry, located the fire and extinguished it. They opened windows to ventilate the building. After the smoke cleared, the extinguished hot spots. The county was released, and the city remained on the scene. FP&L and the fire marshal were notified.
